Not as many as some of you. Steam says I own 400 games, and I guess Epic is another 50 with freebies, probably another 50 from other stores.

What's always entertaining is to ask people the top five games they have the most hours in. Your Steam library can be sorted by 'hours played'. Of course this usually won't include games that are meant to be played one time through, but still interesting. I'm not sure I'm proud of this but:

Killing Floor 2: 2,909 hrs
GTA V: 1,201 hrs
L4D2: 1,107 hrs
Deep Rock Galactic: 1,032
Satisfactory: 692 hrs

I have no way of looking up the number of hours I have in Minecraft Java, but I suspect it's around 2000.

I'm part proud of, part embarrassed by the size of my library. I'm sure that it is indicative of a mental disorder.

Btw, the official count of every single 'purchasable' (is that a word) or freely downloadable item on Steam is over 130,000. It goes up by an average of between 20 and 40 a day though some days it is much more. Out of that, I would say that if you were the most tolerant gamer ever, liked every single genre, bought every dlc available to those games, had an infinite amount of money, and a decidedly lower amount of sense, you would amass, by my rough estimation, 18000 Steam items consisting of games and dlc. 20000 on the high end if you downloaded every single F2P game and every demo.

Of course that is subjective, but I like pointing that out just to illustrate just how much garbage is on Steam, though in fairness demos are counted in that number and there are thousands of them.

I'm not much of a Marvel, let alone a GotG, fan but I'm a fan of great story-driven games, and even though there was tons of WTF-ism with regard to the setting/characters for me as someone who is/was unfamiliar with the source material, I still enjoyed this game immensely. The writing and voice acting is superb and the artistic execution is second to none.

It's a bit sad that the game sold like crap and we will likely never get another single player story-driven game in that franchise but, to me, it was worth every penny (I paid €47.99 for a GMG key around Halloween 2021). For free, it's a no-brainer. Grab and play ASAP.

Oh, and when you get the chance in the game... (minor spoiler ahead)... ... throw the rodent... ... for some extra hilarity!

This is a great freebie...I was actually going to buy this. Fantastic!

There aren't too many games like Quake 2 that have been Epic giveaways. My entire Epic library is essentially a list of every game they have ever given away and nothing else. I'd say if you are talking what they have given away recently (this holiday season) I would vote for Plague Tale. It isn't a point and click but it definitely has an adventure game vibe. Some great strategy games that have been freebies in the past are XCom 2, Homeworld Trilogy, and Warhammer Total War. Evil Within and Amnseia if you are into horror as they are amazing if you are a horror fan.

You have to go all the way back to June of 2022 to find something really similar to Quake - Doom 64 is an amazingly good retro shooter that surprised the hell out of me with how good it is. If you can handle nickel and diming you might like Destiny 2 but that is pretty different from Quake.

I have 410 on GOG - close. On Steam, well, I have a few more than that.
