Fine your right no one is capable of having an opinion nor an idea if its wrong defined by others and all your possessions should be stolen from you if your not thinking like everyone else. We all should just believe everything we are told I guess. Have a good day.

Do you just believe everything Alex Jones says? Do you even understand what's going on here and why there is such a significant judgment against him? Have you somehow failed to see all of the evidence that he did in fact do these things and should be held responsible? Do you understand how much money he has made from his empire of lies?

Your right its mean and Alex should not have said it but $85 million for that? Your kidding right? Original amount was $1 billion. If Alex thought they were actors he should get help not a lawsuit.

Your other points are pointless. Family values would prevent males from hating others to the point of committing murder. 85% of murderers are from fatherless homes.

Thank you for the dog whistles, too. And the fabricated statistics.

Yes. Alex Jones had a large platform. He repeatedly made comments that had no basis in reality. That's slander. On top of it, due to his platform, he influenced others, which led to harassment.

Sorry, harassing and inciting harassment upon the parents of murdered children is absolutely revolting, and that be kept doing it was reason to be financially destroyed.

Oh, and Adam Lanza? Had a father. Who do you think brought his gun? Thank God his father didn't die of cancer or in a car accident, who knows what Adam would have been capable of without a father? Maybe even killed a few kids!

You throw out about 18 different distraction topics, but how the hell does repeatedly telling millions of listeners that the parents of dead children are actors, that the children didn't die because they never existed, and that it's all faked to steal your guns fit your view of "family values."

What kind of insane human being thinks that family values means harassing the parents of dead children? Probably one that needs some pharmaceuticals.

I don't think a settlement has been reached with Sandy Hook families. CBS reported a few weeks ago that the families' lawyers want Jones to go bankrupt and liquidate, or pay at least $85 million of the next 10 years, plus more if his yearly income hits a certain mark. Although it seems perverse to wish Jones to achieve new financial gains, a significant amount could find its way to those families. So in that sense, Musk allowing him back on the platform could be a good thing Confused

I don't agree with everything Alex Jones says, however he did predict the 9/11 attack with planes to the world trade center and tried to stop it unsuccessfully and he predicted other events before they happened. Alex Jones means well and his voice even if wrong should be allowed to speak in the public square. If he bothers you don't listen or read Alex texts.

I don’t think people decide to purchase something they’re against because the owner lets conspiracy spewing loons back on his “un-free speech” vanity project. And I doubt that thought even went through his mind.

But I do see it swaying people who were interested in a Tesla to investigate other options.

It's not that I think he's a genius, but he's clearly an intelligent person.

My perspective is a story about a blundering Asperger-y attempt to fulfill their bottom line, to find a way to talk to people who coal roll. I don't think it's that far-fetched, or requires someone to be a genius to conceive.
I get what you are saying, but did you watch the short recent interview with him I linked?

And then Musk immediately hosted a voice chat with Vivek Ramaswamy, Alex Jones, and Andrew Tate.

So, basically appealing to 14 year old edgelords by having a moron, a covid denier, a guy that harasses the parents of dead children, and a sex trafficker.

I think that for a lot of people, including myself, it isn't Alex Jones having a twitter account that was bothersome.

It's the fact that he's popular.

That's the offensive part. That's what inspired demands for him (and Trump) to be deplatformed. Some rando with ten followers ranting about space lizards we can cope with. It's when you see lies gaining massive traction, when you're watching a conman whip his marks into a frenzy on a vast scale in broad daylight, when you see the abuse of free speech manifestly causing harm.

When musk bought twitter he did not reinstate jones and cited the death of his 10-week old baby as the reason, writing: "I have no mercy for anyone who would use the death of children for gain, politics or fame."

So what gives, did musk's child come back to life?

I remember that.

My theory which I've held for years is that Musk is interested in selling electric cars, and by a wide margin liberals buy them, conservatives don't. I think he's donned this persona, or at least given in to his inner demons in order to try and have a dialogue with conservatives. Now more than ever so they'll buy his truck.

People say he's an enigma, to be doing so much to try and fight global warming, and yet have such right-wing personal politics. I don't think it's that complicated. He has reason to hate democrats because his first Tesla factory was in California. So many horror stories of the red tape you need to wade through to get a toilet installed in that State. But that wouldn't shift his core ideals towards saving our species from catastrophic climate change.

I think he's genuinely, in his very much "on the spectrum" way, trying to speak to all the people who would never consider buying an electric vehicle. And as cringe as the spectacle is, that might be a valid tactic. How else would you ever convince truck drivers who coal roll Priuses to consider going electric? Republicans seem to have an affinity for coastal billionaires who have been liberal their whole lives but who now speak "fox news". Maybe he has a point.
This is the "they are geniuses" point of view (or at least that they are smarter than they appear).
No they really aren't. It's a very common belief that people with money have got to be smarter, else how did they get there.

Have you watched this interview with Musk?
In my opinion everyone who thinks he's a genius should.
Where he WANTS to have X killed because he wants to see earth rise up to defend his company?
This isn't a genius, this is someone who believes his own koolaid and is surrounded by yes men, no one can say no to him.

I believe he became a success at tesla and spacex because people believed in saving the earth so much they were willing to put up with his crap which went on even then. But at twitter? Naw, that's not something most people are going to sacrifice their health and mental well being for.
