I played this back in 2020 after they announced that they would retire some of the original campaign content etc. to turn it into seasonal content. Destiny 2 was the biggest disjointed mess I have ever had the misfortune of playing. The original campaign was shallow garbage and the other story content wasn't much better.
It could sometimes be unfathomably hard to figure out what to do next or where to go next due to the disjointed nature of the game. Everything also felt super-artificial due to the way that the game is set up. I never felt any real connection to my character, the world or the other characters. There was zero immersion and the game was bland as fuck.
It has always been a complete mystery to me why the game was as successful as it apparently was. Yes, it had somewhat competent pew-pew mechanics but that was literally everything there was to it. Pew and pew. It doesn't surprise me that other developers are also trying to get away with a lazy as possible effort when they have Destiny 2 as one of the most shining examples that shit sells.
