Counter-Strike Ends Legacy Support; CS:GO Legacy Version and Refund Details

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is no longer available following the release of Counter-Strike 2, a new installment in the tactical shooter series. But a Legacy CS:GO Version is now available for players unwilling or unable to move on to the newer game, which is reportedly now the worst-rated Valve game ever. It's available as a beta, but the bad news is that support for this will conclude at the end of this year. There are details in this Steam Support Article, which also explains which macOS, DirectX 9, and 32-bit Windows gamers are eligible for refunds. Here's more on the Legacy Version:
As technology advances, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue support for older hardware, including DirectX 9 and 32-bit operating systems. Similarly, we will no longer support macOS. Combined, these represented less than one percent of active CS:GO players.

Moving forward, Counter-Strike 2 will exclusively support 64-bit Windows and Linux.

If you are unable to launch Counter-Strike 2 with your current hardware, you can access a legacy version of CS:GO. Support for this version of CS:GO will end on January 1, 2024.
