Do a remake or true sequel of Far Cry 1, Cold Fear, The Bard's Tale.
Do a good Might & Magic XI.

..Wouldn't mind a Dark Messiah remake. Spike-Kick Simulator 2.0

If this rumor is really about a Far Cry game then it sounds very suspiciously like a The Division 2 relabeled project. Snowdrop engine (BTW, not sure if it's superior because there have been unresolved crash issues in TD2 for years), 'Sons of Truth' as the bad guys (The Division has the 'True Sons') and that timer mechanic sounds a lot more like a The Division 2 DLC than a Far Cry game.

Well, you could be right, but the article is so vague that it's hard to really tell at this point. It'd certainly be possible, but it could also just be some intended or unintended cross contamination inside the same mega corporation.

I haven't even gotten around to playing FC6 yet, it exhausted me to think about it.

Yeah, it could even be an intentional leak to see how people react to the timer mechanic. I find it slightly hard to believe that Ubi would pull that off in a main line title. A countdown timer sounds more like a gameplay variation that you would do for a DLC.
If this rumor/leak is really about Far Cry then it would also reaffirm a certain level of creative bankruptcy at UbiSoft. 'Sons of Truth' vs. 'True Sons' ... have they really run out of names for the bad guys? Or is this some kind of lame attempt to merge the franchises? Weird...

Finally, FC6 is better than its rep imo. It's probably a bad idea to play it when you are burned out on the Ubi formula but once the burnout has worn off then FC6 is pretty entertaining. My tip would be to play a female Dani in FC6 because of the v/o and to mitigate the stereotypical Hispanic gangsta trope.
The game is actually good fun once you get rolling, i.e. after you have conquered some territory and can move rather freely around the map. Airdropping never gets old (or it takes a pretty long time at least Wink ) and there are plenty fun ways to wreak some serious havoc. It almost felt a little bit like Just Cause at times.

That criticism is way overblown imo. It happened, what, three/four/five times? Yeah. Big deal in a game with fast travel. Not.

I mean, you could literally very easily go back and pick up where you left off. Yes, it was a minor nuisance and I was no big fan of it either but people need to stop pretending like UbiSoft invaded their homes and ran over their pets or something.

Ubisoft's homogenization problem is well-documented, but it hasn't hurt their bottom line enough yet. It will - it's just a matter of time - but don't expect anything all that exciting out of them for a while yet.

Agreed, they really need to start mixing things up... feels like i we are just re-playing the same tired old formula over and over.

A TIMER is NOT the way to do it though, especially in an 'open world' game.

Oh, and give us a difficulty setting! FC6 was so easy there wasn't really any point to different types of ammo, resistances, upgrades etc... just find a weapon you like, set off all the alarms, and shoot some brain dead AI.

Please mix up the formula. You won't, because Ubi gotta Ubi, but it's getting really tired. I also thought FC6's move back to the tropical island setting would be some sort of reset but no. It's not as bad as FC5, but it continues the downward trend since FC3.

Not all that excited. I had high hopes for 6 since I thought we'd be going back to the Caribbean Far Cry 3 style, but couldn't get into it the same. The first fortress to conquer I had like zero interests in it immediately. Not sure why because I knew what to expect, but couldn't get into it. I had similar vibes with Far Cry 5 and ultimately came back around to it one day and found it more enjoyable to the point of beating it. I hope I can do that with 6 one day. Though until I get back into 6, I doubt I want another repetitive romp through the Far Cry universe.

That's one way of looking at it... But it would also very effectively solve at least two of the biggest complaints they get about this series, which include a) there being near-zero urgency to the gameplay despite everything the story is trying to shout in your face and b) the games being way too damn long in general. Plus, having a time limit for those certain events of the main quest would not necessarily preclude them from leaving it open to being played at your leisure before and/or after that crunch occurs.

I'm not a fan of forced timers but I would probably be fine with it in this case if it meant that Ubisoft doesn't vomit icons/activities everywhere on the map. Less is more!

But that's the whole point, I don't *want* there to be urgency. It makes me feel rushed and then I don't enjoy it - I just want to play at my own pace. If someone wants to blow through it quickly that's their choice, but I prefer taking my time.
