I think you’d be unhappy if you moved back. And not just because of all the choices you have in a grocery store.

So they need to screw consumers, play fishy math with the books or/and screw the environment to make more. We need democratic socialism like the Norse countries so bad, it's painful.
you left out where some start up will see a market that is cost effective to get into and compete (eg.myspace -> facebook) you don't get that with any kind of socialism. you just get stuck only buying amazon, but at a reduced increase schedule or tax funded subsidized with corruption, waste, and loss of choice. no thanks. sick of amazon prime screwing you? plenty of streaming services AND shopping services to pick from. give someone else your dollar. enjoy the choice!

Then that upstart gets bought up or sells out via IPO and we're right back to where they need to show unrealistic profits to wall street. Nothing you said disputes my point. And the fact you think 0 innovation happened under "any kind of socialism" shows how uneducated you are on the topic. So opposed to "any kind of socialism" then don't use roads, call 911, collect any form of unemployment, disability or cash those covid checks, use your faucet/toilet or use public parks... just a few examples of things paid for by socialist programs.

This sounds like it'll be really annoying. Ideally somebody will come up with a Firefox plugin almost immediately to block these ads.

One of the things we liked about prime was the delivery window. At least when it was still functioning. Having seen how badly prime deliveries are the past 2years we have had enough. Since they are no longer any better then the national post service here, why pay extra?

The streaming service… I forget it’s there half the time.

Amazon is the image of Enshitification.

I absolutely loved streaming for the simple fact it was commercial free. That's it. That was the sole reason. It wasn't for unique shows, exclusive content, etc...I just didn't have to watch commercials. Now everyone has moved to adding commercials to their content and also raised prices so that Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc. all think their service is worth $15-$20 a month each. Yet it's still cheaper to subscribe to these services because cable and satellite will ram rental prices and fees down your throat. It's just the "awesome" deal of streaming has become a "meh" deal. Amazon doing this definitely irks me the most, though. As for there being plenty of "competition"...no, there is no online shopping competition for Amazon. Walmart's website is complete trash, and most other retailers don't have the same selection and guaranteed service.

They moved a ton of Prime content to Freevee, and now they want to charge us even more for ad-free viewing on Prime. I've always considered Prime to be my fallback streaming service when I'm not subscribed to something else since I've always regarded their app and service to be inferior to other major streaming platforms. I won't be doing that anymore though since I'd rather watch nothing than something with ads. They made Prime Music debatably worse too. I guess it's time to reevaluate my prime membership.
