One of my main gripes about moving back to the states. Losing all these European sweet socialist benefits. 5 weeks of paid vacation a year. Basically free health care. Working public transportation. Paid sick time that can last months… Do people still buy into that America is the greatest country on earth bullshit still? Cause it’s a friggin lie.

This is what late stage capitalism gets you. Companies who have to show massive profit year after year even though they got all the customers more or less they are ever going to get. Rather then wall street saying you made 10billion in profit again this year like last, good job they say unless you make over 11 billion this year you suck and we're selling. So they need to screw consumers, play fishy math with the books or/and screw the environment to make more. We need democratic socialism like the Norse countries so bad, it's painful.
Then that upstart gets bought up or sells out via IPO and we're right back to where they need to show unrealistic profits to wall street. Nothing you said disputes my point. And the fact you think 0 innovation happened under "any kind of socialism" shows how uneducated you are on the topic. So opposed to "any kind of socialism" then don't use roads, call 911, collect any form of unemployment, disability or cash those covid checks, use your faucet/toilet or use public parks... just a few examples of things paid for by socialist programs.
