10/10 is all I am reading here!

You joke, but the game was good, probably fair to call it at least 7/10 or 8/10 on day 1 on a decent PC, and they patched the most atrocious bugs within the first few weeks. No idea how bad it was on PS4 or whatever consoles, I only played it on a PC with decent stats for 2020.

The game is probably pretty slick at this point, after 3 years of patches.

Yeah, I thought it was amazing when it was released, perhaps a little to amazing... but then again, I am a Mike Pondsmith fan boi, and shoplifted all the cyberpunk 2020 source material to play it when I was a teen.

I returned to the game last night to check out the new skill tree system. I was only 20 hours into the game when I last walked away.

Default high settings on a 3080, no RTX or DLSS and I'm getting an average 70 fps.

So I see the cops still open fire on you if you try to help them out against a street gang.

BTW: Good detailed breakdown of all the Update 2.0 changes and explanation of the new skill tree system here: Link

CP2077 was one of the best gaming experiences I had. Granted I played it on top of the line hardware for the most part, and I was one of the lucky people who encountered very few bugs. I will agree though that there were some systems which were downright broken (e.g police) and some were very buggy, but for the most part I enjoyed the game from start to finish.

Very much looking forward to this, I will probably buy it in a couple of weeks though as I still need to finish BG3 and Armored Core VI.

Nice... I bought Phantom Liberty last night on GoG.

I played through CP2077 starting on release day, and of course it was buggy. It was still fun and amazing in a lot of ways, and I finished it with almost everything done in the game in terms of quests and achievements after around 120 hours or so. It's the only CDPR game I've actually finished anywhere near that completely. I still need to finish some of the Witcher 3 DLC.

I'm looking forward to getting to play CP2077+DLC again in a few weeks when work allows, although I'll probably install it and at least try it out on the 25th-26th.

Good. Now I'll get back into the game. I want to see how the 2.0 update changes things. If I like what see, I'll grab the DLC.

BTW: You don't need to finish the original game to play the DLC.

I played CP2077 on PC recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. It had it's flaws, but it isn't anywhere as bad as people said it was. There was lots of content that made going around the map worth it, even if there weren't a lot of reason to explore every nook and cranny. Probably gonna pick this up soon too.

hummmm correct me if I am wrong, but last time there was a CDPR release of Cyberpunk the reviews were good too, because they were all LIES!!!

Huh? Cyberpunk got mid-range reviews when it came out, depending on what platform the reviewer played it on. EVERY review complained how buggy of a mess the game was, and how the world was neat, but gave you minimal reason to explore it.
I'll be waiting for the GOTY edition to drop to pretty cheap before I pick this game up anyway.

That's not really how I remember it... I remember CP2077 getting good reviews up until it was released to the public, then all the bad reviews started pouring, with the majority of the complaints specifically related to playing on near decade old consoles, and low-end computer machines.

Personally it ran great on my PC even at 4k, sure there were some bugs, but IMO nothing game breaking.

Lol, I looked exactly this up on blues earlier today at work and was reading through the reviews thinking "well I guess my memory is fucked, I have dementia".

I wish there weren't so many other good games coming out right now, publishers need to learn to spread things out a bit. We've had a drought of quality titles it feels for so long, and then boom Q4 '23 baby!

Is the "buying videogame xmas present for junior" really such a huge market? Wouldn't it make sense to release something big in like February when they could hog the spotlight?

Not Phantom Liberty tho, they better release that shit on time or else I'll send death threats. Then when it comes out broken I'll send out more death threats.

Imagine if they had just cancelled the PS4 version. The PC versions were no worse than your random Bethesda game. A bazillion in stock value not torched in an instant.

Glad to see they stuck with it and tried to improve the whole package. It was way off from the "promise" so I stopped somewhere in the middle some time ago, but it was a nice collection of bits was one of the most realistic cities ever. The anime is still the best thing to come out of this whole business though.

Witcher 4 will settle a lot of issues for CDPR, one way or the other. If the company reverts to its previous model of doing the PC version first, all consoles, etc. later on, I think they can repair much of the damage done to their reputation with Punk. (Possibly. It depends on whether they can revive Geralt adequately and properly. I hope they can, as I kind of miss the guy, and his stories, and W3 is getting long in the tooth...;) Still, W3 was an amazing achievement for 2015! Simultaneous multi-platform development was the insidious trickster that befouled Punk's early release, imo. I still have been unable to coax myself into picking Punk up--and it's the slot-car driving, mainly, as after driving for many decades the thrill of leading police on 160 MPH chases through the pristine countryside no longer does for me what it did for me when I was 12...;) And when rubber screams and burns, the excitement is gone, and I see only $ signs...;)
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)

Sounds like it's good enough for me for $30 but I'd probably pay that much just to get the 2.0 update features, which I know are free.

I wish they could churn out a sequel in the next couple years but it looks like it'll be 5+. Hopefully they make it further into the future closer to the Altered Carbon setting, with flying vehicles and all that crazy futuristic sci-fi shit.

Altered Carbon would make a pretty sweet RPG.. when you die you get a new sleeve every time so you don't look the same.. that would be awesome.

I was fortunate to not see a lot of bugs. I had a weird car stuck in pavement but overall it was very smooth after release. I've said it before but I absolutely loved the setting and loved the story.

The over the top sexuality and violence in advertisements, even the music was great. Meals in bags, Synth-beef, Brain dances, full body modifications, political corruption and corporate greed at the most extreme levels.. It is great.
