'Aesthetic' and 'style' are different terms when it comes to filmmaking. 'Style' is a far broader term and encompasses 'aesthetic' as well several other key identifiable ways of doing things.
A clear example of this is the movie '300', based on the classic comic "The 300 Spartans". The aesthetic was largely lifted from the comic, adapted for the movie, and is very distinct. The style is clearly Zak Snyder, and though the aesthetic is often different his style similarly shows through in his other cinematic works. For better or for worse, depending on one's opinion.
