Ground mounts way better if you have the space. No good reason to have panels and roof dependent on each other. Additionally, easier to set up tracking. Makes a difference if you can afford that.

Gotta say, I was impressed with the amount of power he's generating. He's getting around 29Kw from the panels. He has a big house, looks to be the size of mine. My whole house generator is a 28Kw model (bigger than really needed because we sized it with the idea we may add a pool house, down the road), and it easily powers the whole house without turning anything off. Under full load tests in the middle of summer, I've never seen the house pull more than 50% of that.

The problem with Central Florida is mildew and pollen. It's bad. You have to power wash your panels every month here. My neighbor regrets putting his panels on his barn - he has to hire a company to power wash them.

If I ever go solar, it'll be using panels on ground mounted racks. I have the room for it.
