PCGamer said 30/60/90/120 for frame rate modes, didn't see any word on ultrawide though. It sounded like basic options still so I certainly wouldn't bet on it and the cynic in me assumes we're only getting 120 because consoles are (I don't know if they are or not).

don't ask me, fromsoft simply dislikes these features. dark souls, sekiro, elden ring, all are capped at 60fps and don't support ultrawide. elden ring actually loads at native ultrawide resolutions if you have a monitor, but then loads in black bars to pillarbox it meaning its an actual deliberate decision on their part, not just a technical oversight; and so i expect this will be the same.

i was interested in this title until i noticed FromSoftware's name in this news post. i'm sure it sounds whiny to people on standard monitors but 16:9 feels like downgrading to 2008. ultrawide kind of got me back into gaming a couple years ago, its such a surprisingly transformative experience.

as for the rest, mech/mecha games are pure fantasy anyway, so there's no point arguing whether this or battletech is more realistic. neither are at all, so it's a matter of taste. personally i can get behind both/either. never played this series, but i already dig the garage style customizing and all the shooty shooty whiz bang. this'll be a nice appetizer for when starfield comes out.

When the gameplay looks better than the MW2 intro cinematic.

I'll probably check this out at some point, but with Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield coming out soon, I think it'll be next year on sale.

Exact opposite for me... don't like Mech games, but interested because it's a Fromsoft game.

Haven't played an action-oriented mech game in a long time.

Looking forward to playing it, but not going to play it at launch as I'll be knee-deep in Baldur's Gate 3.

You realize FromSoft pretty much started with Mech Games right? Before Souls games made them famous.

After the SoulsBorne / Elden Ring games FromSoftware is probably my favorite dev out there now. They make such awesome ARPGs with unique online play (jolly co-op, pvp etc). Absolutely love how the company does their own thing that doesn't feel and play like every other handholding game out there these days. Really don't understand the random people coming here to hate on them, do you only buy EA and Nintendo games or something?

This game has not been on my radar and not familar with the AC series. Looks interesting, if reviews rave about it like they usually do From games I'll get it.

Yeah there is limited if any overlap between Armored Core and Battletech. I prefer Battletech but I've been a fan of Armored Core since the very beginning.

Yes. I have been a fan of the MechWarrior series since the 1990s. I haven't finished MechWarrior 5 yet (too many games...) but what I have played was enjoyable and I'm planning on a full playthrough including all DLCs one of these days/years. I also really liked BattleTech or the old MechCommander games.

But this one is not for me. Fromsoft is a major turn-off already, but also looking at the gameplay, it seems pretty clear to me that this is 100% a console game with repetitive twitchy skate, strafe & jump wars. Add the typical Fromsoft punishing design that does not respect a player's time: High difficulty, no saves except at "campfires", loss of progress on death and you got me giving this a hard pass.

Lot of crying about FromSoft every time on this site. You would think FromSoft murdered your firstborn around here.

This looks more mecha than mech. Too bad, I was hoping for something more sim-like with VR.
