I don't have any sympathy for the 3rd party apps that have been hoovering Gigabytes of content off Reddit's servers, and driving up Reddit's operating costs. These wankers expect Reddit to absorb the cost of extra racks of blade servers while they make bank.
None of the Reddits I subscribe to were asked by a mod to vote on the blackouts. This is a case of mods getting drunk with what little pathetic power they have and throwing a collective hissy fit. If Reddit was smart they would can every single one of these moderators. A Reddit going dark should only be possible if a 2/3 majority of its subs vote for it.
