Lies of P Delayed; Demo Released [Jun 08, 2023, 2:57 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments

World Premiere Trailer from Summer Game Fest shows off Lies of P, the
upcoming dark Pinocchio action/RPG. It reveals a new release date, saying the
game will arrive on September 19th, rather than its
previously announced August release. It also
concludes with the surprise announcement that a playable demo is available now
for PC and consoles. The Windows demo is on
Steam, which
still reflects the previous release date. The demo is time-limited and will
cease on June 26th.
Word is "The Demo version of Lies of P will feature the first two chapters
of the full game. Any progress made in the Demo version will not carry over to
the full-release version." Here's an overview of the game:

Looks to be very similar to steel rising. In steel rising they had a difficulty setting allowing damage to be tuned, also if death was "punished".

Loved Steel Rising but had to abandon it because of its terrible lack of optimization, no Vram is enough and Spiders did nothing at all to fix it but post hardware blaming from devs.

Was mildly interested when I read action RPG and watched the video. Was instantly turned off and put the game on 'ignore' when I saw they advertise it as a Souls-like on the Steam page. Fuck that shit.
And I'm not alone. There is a long thread on the game's Steam forums lamenting why this game can not indeed just be good old action RPG without the Souls-like crap tacked on.

Gonna check it out when I get home, the early gameplay previews looked a bit stiff but hopefully it's been fleshed out now.

In a way this looks like the Bloodborne so many want on PC. In a other way we know it’s not.
