Hmm, though it comes off as gushing, the macworld impressions sure make it sound like barely a step up from existing headsets, and not worth the price if you already have something that's pretty good.
However, I do think VR is still in a niche space where a high price won't be that big of a bar to reach the niche, as long as Apple aren't expecting much more than to fleece early adopters yet again.
If it had been half the price, or if the increase in visual quality/ease of use were higher, I would say it has more potential than that. However, VR only has a chance to grow if the barriers are removed, and this seems going in the opposite direction.
