Alone in the Dark Prologue

Steam now offers an Alone in the Dark Prologue to pave the way for the October release of the return to the horror series. Here's what to expect: "This stand-alone prologue puts you in the tiny shoes of Grace Saunders – an 11-year-old girl delivering a letter, when things go horribly wrong… Experience the unique 1920s horror atmosphere of Alone in the Dark and prepare for the terror that awaits in Derceto Manor." Here's more:

One of Derceto’s residents, Jeremy Hartwood, has been acting strange lately. He asks Grace to do one simple thing – help him deliver a letter to his niece, Emily Hartwood. She seems to be the only one capable of understanding the otherworldly horrors plaguing Jeremy’s mind.

  • Experience the haunting atmosphere of Derceto Manor, where psychological horror meets Southern Gothic, from the seemingly innocent perspective of Grace Saunders.
  • Dive into the eldritch nightmare of Alone in the Dark in this exclusive first taste of Alone in the Dark’s full experience.
  • If you make it to the end, be ready for a very special surprise…

Well, that was different. Took me all of ten minutes to play through. It does look quite nice, visually. There were a few instances of texture pop in and hitches when turning the camera. Pay attention to the pics, statuary, and sculptures as they reference previous games, going all the way back to the first one from 1992.
Ooh, nice. I remember playing the original game's demo on my IBM PS/2 model 30 286 10 Mhz PC.
