Best review I saw on Steam:

I've eyeballed Styx before and been vagiely tempted - except I haven't really been a fan of stealth games in general (I think the Thief series are the only ones I've bothered with). So even if Gollum wasn't total crap. I probably still wouldn't have touched it anyway.
Still, Styx usually goes on sale for about 2 bucks so I may still consider it one day (when my backlog empties out a bit....HAH!).

If you haven't tried Styx, you could pick it up now, or the sequel and they'll play better. The sequel probably looks just as good, lol.
Where is Sauron to explain this mess? I thought he had better control of his realm?!?

A game about fetch quests with absolutely terrible controls and animations where the main character is written way out of character, and is so weak all combat is to be avoided, but the stealth elements are simplistic...doesn't even sound like a game I'd pick up for free.

The ACG review is scathing and hilarious.
Damn, those are some harsh headlines, lol. I know it probably is warranted, but sometimes you can't help but feel bad for the developers. They've spend at least a couple years on it. Like that is all they go to work every day to do, is put together a game for other's entertainment. Then it gets review bombed. How do you feel knowing the last 2+ years of your life was devoted to it? Has to suck.

The preview videos I saw looked like ass. This comes as no surprise.
