Out of the Blue [May 22, 2023, 10:58 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
As we prepared to head to the ballpark for our minor league experience
yesterday, we learned that our game had become two games. We haven't had much
rain here lately, but the double-header was because a game was a rain-out on
Saturday. So we were a little late for the opener since it got pushed earlier.
But that's okay. Even with the games reduced to seven innings for the twin-bill,
two games is a lot of baseball. On the bright side, we had some of the best
seats in the house, right behind home plate. As I mentioned, this is because the
ticket prices were dirt cheap compared to pro games. Concession prices, on the
other hand, were typical of any ballpark/stadium/arena. Which is to say,
outrageous. I was the designated driver, but MrsBlue had two beers, which cost
considerably more than her seat. Gouging aside, we had a lot of fun and will
surely do it again.

Kids were standing and turning their backs. There was lots of booing. The speech was excessively long and capitalistic and a bunch of com students walked out. There were kids with signs and stuff too.
The best part was he paused and people booed and stuff, and then his next line was "some people will pick a fight," and and everyone cheered. He acknowledged them with a thumbs up.

My wife and I go to see the Tucson Sugar Skulls IFL home games and pricing is about the same for concessions as what you're paying at the minor league park, Blue. The seats cost us $15 each. Meanwhile, beer is $12 a pop for domestic swill and $15 for 'imported' (AKA actually imported or craft, not swill), a plain regular-sized hot dog or 'nachos' (chips and cheese, with jalapenos upon request) are $7 each, and a foot-long chili dog or loaded nachos run $12 each. Hell, a bottle of water is $4.50! It is literally cheaper to go to a restaurant to eat than to eat at the game!
