The complaint alleges that Valve’s handheld video game and augmented and virtual reality (“AR/VR”) systems, including the Steam Deck and Valve Index, infringe seven Immersion patents that cover various uses of haptic effects in connection with such systems. Immersion is seeking to enjoin Valve from further infringement and to recover a reasonable royalty for such infringement.

You mean the thing I touch daily when I take my dog for a hike in my local state park? That grass? Or maybe the grass that I feed the cattle?
Or perhaps you mean sitting on the front porch, enjoying the night air, occasionally packing a bowl, and lighting up?

How to defeat patent trolls
1. Give them a complicated riddle or puzzle to solve and send them on their way.
2. Distract them with shiny objects.
3. Hit them with the elemental force of a legal department.
4. Satiate them with 50 gold. Significantly less than the 500 they were demanding, but they'll take it because trolls will be trolls.

weird company profile on wikipedia there.. looks like it was a legitimate company at one point then just devolved into lawsuits for technology patents.
the biggest red flag is the CEO is a lawyer and chief counsel.. which makes that much worse optically.

Someone with money and a legal team (or personal legal experience) steps in and takes over the brand and any IP held by the company, mostly in the hopes of being able to profit of the IP (via licensing) while not spending money on development or actual production.
