I'm right with you. I've gone from a huge ally, to now I just want them to STFU on both sides.

Sure "gayness" (etc.) is all the rage these days, in the public consciousness like pumpkin spice a few years back, but jeebus, you don't see me going around saying I want to bang female fashion models in their 20's all day do you? You don't see me trying to force diversity and inclusion onto every action I take, every minute, of every day.

Are you sure you were an ally?
Who is trying to force diversity, or talks to you about who they want to fuck?

I remember when the old Dennis the Mennis TV show used to show the Wilson's bedroom, with its two beds. At the time, I thought it was interesting that they were two married adults with two beds. Maybe, I guess, I shouldn't have just assumed a couple being married was normal, though, and wondered why Mr. Wilson was shoving heterosexuality down my throat as all the rage, and showing me how much he wanted to bang his wife (in her separate bed.) Even Home Improvement showed Tim Allen in bed with his wife at night, reading a book. How rude of them to force that on us!

1) No, you shouldn't hate people without cause.
2) You shouldn't harm people, period.
3) You should be able to ignore the words of others (get a thick skin).
4) You shouldn't include small fringe cultures in every single piece of media or art created.
Numbers in 2021: 332 million total U.S. citizens, 1.2 million non-binary U.S. citizens. Yes LGBTQ+ is a small fringe culture.

I truly wish all this "culture war" shit would stay out of all of my hobbies.
I should be coding.

Aloy was a very well-written character in that I suspected she was gay via subtle hints in the first game, which is the only one I played. My sister noticed it immediately, and she is gay, so...

Aloy has always been incel kryptonite. There is nothing incels hate more than asexual women, and Aloy has pretty much presented that way since the start of the series. I guess this confirms that she's not completely asexual, which is cool too (and not a retcon as some homophobe was saying in the article). Incels and homophobes can suck it. Pissing them off is a plus in my book. I didn't even know this was out. I gotta pick it up.

Yeah I don't know how anyone is shocked by Aloy's character being gay, she pretty much runs away from Erend when he expresses interest in her.

Yeah, same here. I can't even muster enough outrage to write much more than "who cares?"

IDK the missions have pretty much been similar since the first game, so I can't see why they'd have an issue about it now. I personally liked the DLC, though I still think the first game's DLC was better overall. The only minor complaint I had was the DLC felt short. Now I don't 100% things so there is probably still content on there I didn't do, but as far as the main quest line goes, I think the first game's DLC was longer but I could be misremembering. Either way I think it was definitely worth the money.

As far as the homophobic review bombs go, I wasn't surprised. As I played I kinda knew where this was leading especially after the UAE ban on the DLC. When I finished the DLC, I was pretty much sure that some kind of review bombing was going to happen to it. I am actually more surprised it took this long after the UAE ban pretty much implied what was going to happen. Which BTW I am more pissed off at the UAE ban because it kind of spoiled what would have been a surprise. I mean let's face it Aloy has been friend-zoning everyone since the first game I would have been playing and thinking the same would happen to Seika also but with UAE ban I knew it from the start. It's probably the first time I was wishing they'd have released the DLC for ratings to "repressive" regions later so crap like this doesn't happen in the future.

Unfortunately, that's just the result of every little thing being politicized. It's idiotic that innocuous things people's sexuality should be a political or controversial issue, but here we are.

I'm kind of at the point of "Who fucking cares?" Either a bunch of frustrated, incel neckbeard, mom's basement-dwelling morons are writing useless reviews or some hack agenda-pushing, not-good-enough-for-Rolling-Stone, "journalist" is having a slow week and is trying to stir up another non-troversey. I've seen both and neither matters to me whatsoever.

How does the title imply none of the negative reviews are legitimate?
