The Last of Us Part I PC players: We know some of you have not experienced the Naughty Dog quality you expected. Our team is working hard to resolve issues currently preventing some of you from experiencing the game to ensure it reaches the quality level you expect and deserve.

Dammit, I'm chopping at the bit to purchase this and wish it would go on sale. But I'm weak, so very very weak.
Maybe it's time to freeze the cc in the middle of a 10lb block of ice, that's always been helpful in the past.

But that doesn't take Naughty Dog and Sony off the hook because they signed off on release in this state. The reason Iron Galaxy is allowed to keep screwing up is probably because they are the lowest bidder. I see Iron Galaxy PC port and I cringe each time. Remember how Arkham Knight got taken off of Steam because of the tender love and care Iron Galaxy gave it?TherMight wrote on Apr 2, 2023, 12:22:
I wanted to buy it day 1.So glad I didn't.
Now drop it to half price and maybe I'll think about it.
What a disappointment.
Yep. They are going to eventually learn this.

Yellow = makes it sounds like only a few people are experiencing issues. The current ratings would indicate otherwise.
Cyan = happy talk assumptions to minimize the fact that they knowingly launched a broken product because they can patch it post-launch after people made a purchase and they got their money.
Hellcinder wrote on Apr 2, 2023, 20:23:that is an overly simplistic view. There is huge difference in the number of problems a developer will see with 20 beta testers and a limited set of hardware vs 1 million people playing the game with a vast array of hardware. Just comparing the numbers you can figure that on release they will see 50000x more bugs and issues. "THEY SHOULD HAVE TESTED MORE!!!" How much more testing would it take? they could test for years and still have the actual product launch blow up because testing can only every do a fraction of what happens on launch.
You can fix some of the basic S%^T by just doing some bare minimum testing. The list of PC launches that biff the landing are just staggering. And they aren't "Phil who is using a Sound Blaster card from 2011" issues.
Excuses of the companies in question:
Testers for xbox and ps5 vs PC.
xbox - couple variants.
ps5 - couple variants
PC -25 to the 9th power of configurations.Maybe test with some standard GPU/CPU/memory configurations.

I personally have had 0 issues from day 1.
Maybe people are trying to run at max settings when they don't have enough VRAM or something...

Assuming that "they" in your statement means the gaming industry at large, I am seriously having doubts. It keeps happening, and ostensibly no lessons are ever learned.

I highly recommend it, I'm having a blast.
