Crazily, it fixed the stuttering issue I have and the game is running fine now, so apparently, it did just need one more day (at least for my problem).
I wonder what could have been wrong that was that quick to fix, that was so prevalent, that they somehow didn't get it fixed before release.
EDIT: While the stuttering is gone, the game did still crash after about 45 minutes, but it ran smooth the entire time.

Ditto. I don't think this was ever going to be a launch day sale for me regardless of how it turned out. That said, I'm definitely going to wait now until it's thoroughly patched (and on sale) before I bite.
