Valve announces Counter-Strike 2, officially taking the lid off of what
has become a poorly-kept secret of late, though all the leaks may have just been
viral marketing. This new era for the multiplayer first-person shooter will
officially begin this summer, but limited playtesting is underway right now.

Honestly, I am okay with the same game just evolving with the tech but basically staying the same game. Add a feature or two, sharpen up some things, but basically....the same.
Yeah, I agree, this is a great update in that respect.
This was more about the silliness in calling it CS 2
When this would actually be the 4th CS... but the one with the least amount of change from the prior iteration when compared to past new releases.
