I love my action bolstered by well rounded interesting characters.

To me BL3 has some loved ones turned lifeless and mirthless (Ellie, except in some parts, Patricia Tannis, Marcus Kincaid).

And obnoxiously irritating ones like Vaughn, -trying to copy Tiny Tina- that only succeed in talking your ear off with whiny nonsense.
So relieved to leave him behind on the 1st planet.

Huh, I loved BL3. I thought it so much better than the Pre-Sequel, and almost as good as BL2.

Borderlands Prequel (modding away the oxygen thing) is fun with the weird initial Handsome Jack friendly slant.

BUT, then he slowly changes to become the monster of later games, in a study of creeping perversity that is nothing short of brilliantly epic.

Not all characters are treated so successfully but he alone justifies the game to classic level.

Also the whole Mind of Claptrap DLC arc is laugh out loud funny.

Sad to see how poorly done are the story and characters of BL3.
And by some accounts, also the Tiny Tina full game, but that I'll have to see myself.

I finished this one just a few months ago. Fun game. Fun enough that I was willing to suffer through BLs attrocious save system.

Picked it up. I played BL2 for a couple hours but didn't find it that exciting - as soon as you find a new weapon to improve DPS, enemies seem to increase in HP or mitigation at a 1:1 proportion. It felt like an endless treadmill. Maybe this game is differently, I'll give it a go. Now, off to ProtonDB to assess Steam Deck playability

If you can get the game for free, those complaints can be disregarded entirely. Even so, the complaints don't make much sense.

Reactor, diverse games on Steam have periods of negative review.
That DLC is widely considered the best part of BL2, an amazing game.
Just take the trouble to read some bad reviews as I did, man.

BL1 and the Prequel (I modded away the idiotic forced oxygen need) are both excellent favorites, without attaining BL2 rare heights.

But BL3, what an irritating let-down !.

I'm all Borderlanded out by now. Pretty sure I finished the first one, definitely completed the second (along with some of the DLC), but was utterly bored by the halfway point of the third.
