Microsoft doesn't have nothing on an update slowing ssd's. My 1 TB nvme m.2 (MicroCenter INLAND Premium nvme) drive throttles and slows to a crawl and shows red in crystal-disc-info for overheating if I sneeze on it. The gaming laptop probably ain't the best place to put it.
The last Witcher 3 update took FOREVER to install. But hey, it was a deal when i got it. 3/2019 $150.

They really need to put whoever is in charge of AriZona iced tea in control of inflation...
