Sent to find a missing billionaire on a remote island, you find yourself in a cannibal-infested hellscape. Craft, build, and struggle to survive, alone or with friends, in this terrifying new open-world survival horror simulator.
Experience complete freedom to tackle the world how you want. You decide what you do, where to go and how best to survive. There are no NPC's barking orders at you or giving you missions you don't want to do. You give the orders, you choose what happens next.
Enter a world where nowhere is safe and fight against a range of mutated creatures, some who are almost human like, and others who are like nothing you have ever seen before. Armed with pistols, axes, stun batons and more, protect yourself and those you care for.

I really like the deaf/dumb companion they give you for single-player. He makes building a lot easier (gathers whatever materials you tell him to) and is apparently an expert hand-fisherman!
The great thing about the previous game was that you could tweak a lot of the server settings and kind of create your own game type. I always played co-op and made it scary and tense. Gliding along with ease in the game wasn't very fun.
Well, he's not a replacement for an actual co-op partner, mainly eases some of the tedium involved with solo-building something out of literally hundreds of logs. He can't use weapons or participate in combat in any way AFAICT, and he won't follow you into caves so you're still gonna be exploring the dark on your own... I did find out that he's present in multiplayer games, as well, but he's a lot less useful there just because players do everything he does more efficiently. But 'scary and tense' goes completely out the window if you're playing co-op anyway, in my experience.

The first game is one of my favorites and I look forward to trying the sequel, though I will probably wait until it comes out of early access.
On another note, reviews on Steam have become mostly useless one liners. It is annoying.

This sounds like Cannibal Holocaust: The Game.
Sounds more like, The Green Inferno.
