I found episode 3 dull as dishwater. They needed to trim a good 20 minutes out of that episode. I've found the show in general has been pretty dull and unoriginal. Which is a shame, since I like all the actors.

The bombshell dropped in Episode 3: The entire world stopped eating bread (and possibly most forms of refined sugar) in 2003. 2003! It's 2023 in the show... everybody has basically been eating Paleo for 20+ years, the kids like Ellie have theoretically known nothing else (disregard the impossible sandwich in the previous episode) .

End result, everybody in the show should be absolutely shredded. Like, three percent body fat. Then Nick Offerman showed up with his 30%+ body fat ratio?!?!? Unwatchable!

I unsubbed from HBO Max immediately!

I read about episode 3 having some kind of controversy. I thought most of episode 3 was really beautiful. Was confused about why anyone had a problem with it.

Some people were upset that it was mostly an episode not about Joel and Ellie, but then you got the people who are so homophobic that they can't even handle a sweet relationship between two bears even with no sex scenes.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
