Yep, I bought a Brother color laser with scan and copy ability close to a decade ago for IIRC about $300. That was after I had burned through two $99 inkjets in a couple of years.

It is great. Runs like a champ, never had a single problem with it. Two sided printing too, which is nice when you need it. I recently had to actually buy paper for it. I finally ran through all the printer paper I took home with me when my employer shutdown our office...

Not sure who's worse really, HP for being evil ... or this guy for being so dumb as to buy an HP printer AND sign up for a really shady ink subscription deal AND then write about it in the whiniest way possible. Minus points for The Atlantic.
