They announced the Corsair Shift PSU a few weeks ago (CES?). It might sound like a neat idea on paper but you better have a case with a lot of clearance on the right hand side for this to work without excessive cable bending. There will quite likely be compatibility issues with many PC cases and the side panel.
These compatibility concerns might have been alleviated if they would have redesigned the PSU to be slimmer (and maybe longer to make up for it) but it looks like a classic square format. According to Corsair's website, all of the PSUs from 750W all the way up to 1200W are 150mm wide which is standard PSU measurements.
In this picture
on their website it looks easy-peasy but who knows what case that is. It could be or probably is one of their spacious big towers like the Obsidian 1000D or 7000D Airflow.
We'll have to wait and see for actual user reports how well this is going to work in the wild with a large variety of cases. There will hopefully be at least unofficial compatibility lists sooner or later.
