everybody has different ways they like to play a game. you obviously like the stories, once and done with the game, others like the power fantasy, where you start off incredibly weak and gradually become overpowered through loot, crafting and leveling up. Repeatable missions are one way of doing that, another is with games that have NG+ modes which is essentially repeating the entire story. It is probably difficult to please both types of players. Maybe why ubi makes their worlds so large, even if you only do things once it still can take 100+ hours unless you only do the main missions. And with the latest games, if you don't level up near the enemies level you might be at a huge disadvantage because of power scaling

Eh, I am hoping they are going to use the model the division used. Where you have a big open world, repeatable story missions and random events scattered across the map. It had for an enjoyable gameplay loop.

How about no?

A repeatable story mission isn't even "story" to begin with. For something to be "story", it at least has to matter a little bit within the context of the game world and its characters. A mission that can be repeated endlessly is pointless filler make-believe garbage. It's busy work.

Don't get me wrong. I also enjoyed The Division 1 + 2 for what they were (and only played each mssion once because I'm not UbiSoft's retarded hamster bitch) but that is definitely NOT something I want Bethesda to copy.

If anything, against all hope but alas, I want Bethesda to finally follow through on the feedback they have received for years, i.e. better writing, a more engaging story, more interesting characters and more choices & consequences. Repeatable dumb grind would be the polar opposite of what I want from a Bethesda game.

Say what you will about Oblivion and the dumbass level scaling but Oblivion got one thing right: It had some great actual content with unique quests (the painting world, the dream world, the schizo elf etc.) and interesting quest lines like the Thieves Guild and especially the Dark Bruh'hood.

But puhlease, no repeatable grind, it is enough if UbiSoft, EA, R*, Actiblizz etc. keep making games with busy work crap.

Are we seeing the same game? Redfall is vampire-themed Far Cry. I think it looks okay, no worse than Deathloop. Not $70 good (nothing has been), but certainly a fun co-op romp, potentially.

You mean a Darktide like Anthem inspired Far Cry with vampires, and no combination of words evoke more eldritch horror than these

based on what?

Based on the recent gameplay footage.

Yeah, imagine trying to sell an immersive sim with that video
Sadly you don't have to imagine, that's literally what they tried and failed ;/

Yikes, that looks terrible gameplay wise.

STARFIELD though, I'm looking forward to. There have been so many let downs with space rpg sims either being shallow, incomplete, or buggy. So hopefully this delivers.

I'm damn sure the Bethesda space RPG will deliver on the full trifecta and be shallow, incomplete AND buggy
True, but since Starfield will be on game pass, I'm probably playing the hell out of it, bugs and all.

The verdict on Starfield remains to be seen. It has at least a slightly higher chance to be worth more than a dollar.

If they are so important, then it was certainly dumbassery to use denuvo.
