She's terrified of losing her identity, and it's sad. She thinks her identity is the single mother who struggled so much that she had to hide that she was a woman to get published. She isn't the first of those, and sadly probably won't be the last. She's actually the massively successful author, the most successful financially, who brought joy to millions of children. But that's not how she sees herself, and instead of seeing trans women as people who are struggling as she did, she sees them as threats. As men that want to steal what she had and push her out.

It's batshit. And she just keeps doubling down, instead of going "oh, I didn't realize." Keeps repeating right wing fear mongering. "we can't say women anymore!" Or "they're another form of grooming!" Or "but the bathrooms!" All of which are intentionally misunderstanding in order to create an enemy

Holy cow. I read that article you linked and I've never heard so much whining from one person in my life. Some trans activists called her some naughty names and that triggers her victimhood complex to kick into high gear.

Anyway, that tweet might seem harmless in a vacuum but in the context of the stupidly transphobic policies that she supports, it's kinda bad. From the article you linked: "When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman – and, as I’ve said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones – then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth."

That right there is at best an indifference to the well-being of trans people, and at worse a promotion of violence against trans people. If men want to go in women's bathrooms, they can already do it. There is no special gendered forcefield keeping them out, so you're not "opening the door" to anything by letting trans people use the bathroom of their choice. Meanwhile, she wants passing trans women (some without penises) to use the men's room? And buff, burly passing trans men to use the women's room? And she thinks this isn't going to lead to an increase in violent confrontations in public bathrooms? This is just one of many examples of her hateful, or at least very ignorant, policy positions.

Really I just wish public figures would stay out of politics. Yes, they are entitled to their opinion just like everyone else, but they just don't know when to shut up. Personally, while disagree with her, I don't find her opinions that bad; at worst, they display ignorance born of a lack of experience and understanding. If I were to start blathering on about a topic that I had no expertise on, and in fact only one-sided, extremely limited anecdotal evidence formed my opinion, I would probably sound like an idiot too. One of my supervisors where I worked in the mid 2000's said something that I never forgot, and try to live by to this day. He said, "Never miss a chance to shut the fuck up". A lot of public figures could really benefit from taking that to heart.

And one article that contradicts her tweets.

So why would I believe that one article and that one tweet instead of several dozen contradictorily tweets? Why would she continue making those tweets?

Do you believe politicians when they say one thing then do another? Anyone can say the right thing to defend themselves, but it's another to actually live by it, and she hasn't. That essay is a data point. It's heavily outweighed by her continued behavior since. But I'm also certain that every criminal that tells they judge they're just a misunderstood man is telling the truth, even if they end up back in front of that judge many, many times.

She has, in fact, repeated fear mongering that she's heard second hand (referring to it as "grooming"), she retweets when trans women commit crimes, she's whined that International Women's Day will be renamed because she's not allowed to say Women anymore. All of that is moronic, small-minded understanding of a very complex issue, all because she's afraid that acknowledging trans women will somehow take away from the uphill battle she had to achieve her accomplishments.

Her twitter feed is full of misunderstandings, half-truths, and things she only understands second-hand, and yet you're accusing others of doing that here.

I've just decided to let JKs views sour the entire franchise for me indefinitely. Even if Hogwarts game is good and did not have her direct involvement she still rakes in royalties for its use. BG&E 2 has been restarted so many times, no WAY it turns out any good. I loved the original game, but it just feels like they have NO idea what to even do for a sequel.

The one thing that could seriously affect hogwarts legacy is if JK decides to go off on some more anti-trans rampages. I can see why the actor wanted to distance themselves

It would be pretty funny if Beyond Good and Evil 2 actually turned out to be based on Nietzsche's book.
