GeForce NOW Adding 4080 Tier and Automotive Support

NVIDIA announces a new GeForce NOW Ultimate tier which promises RTX 4080-class performance over the cloud. Word is: "With GeForce RTX 4080 performance, Ultimate members will be the first to experience true PC gaming — streaming at up to 240 frames per second from the cloud with full ray tracing and DLSS 3, in hit games like Portal With RTX. With the addition of NVIDIA Reflex, GeForce NOW achieves click-to-pixel latency below 40 milliseconds — another first in cloud gaming." In more GeForce NOW news, NVIDIA also announces it's bringing the cloud streaming service to automobiles using NVIDIA Drive to power their infotainment systems. Word is this will bring AAA gaming as a diversion while waiting for EVs to charge. Here's a video along with more:
NVIDIA today announced that the high-performance GeForce NOW™ cloud gaming service will be coming to cars. Hyundai Motor Group, one of the world’s largest automakers with the Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brands; BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs); and Swedish premium electric vehicle and lifestyle brand Polestar are the first working with NVIDIA to deliver GeForce NOW in their vehicles.

Today’s announcement expands NVIDIA’s vehicle infotainment offerings, which include a suite of products and services that improve the cockpit experience. Coupling NVIDIA’s heritage in gaming and infotainment, GeForce NOW can stream a real-time, full PC-gaming experience beyond desktops, laptops and mobile devices, now to software-defined cars.

The new GeForce NOW offering can enhance time spent charging or riding in vehicles, as it enables front-seat occupants to stream games while parked, and passengers to game in the back seat if screens are available.

“Accelerated computing, AI and connectivity are delivering new levels of automation, safety, convenience and enjoyment to the car,” said Ali Kani, vice president of automotive at NVIDIA. “The ability to stream popular titles from gamers’ libraries along with dozens of free-to-play games will bring the in-vehicle infotainment experience to new heights.”

i didn't think rendering was the issue, i would have guessed latency was? I have a reasonable 4g connection right now but the latency is all over the shop but not symmetrically. Download is fairly consistent at 50ms with a 4ms jitter, upload is all over the shop. Im pulling 48Mb down pushing 8Mb up so no issues there for mobile gaming.

Im sure a home connection would fare better but I think latency will always be the spectre.
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
