Or is this a scam to screw over the people with just the first 2 games? Meh, I haven't really played them so I'll probably pass on buying H3 cheap and wait the next x years for drastic price drops or more bundle deals.

I think I even have access to 1 or 2 on PS+.

Haha, yeah, and as if that chart wasn't crazy enough, someone has also written up a very comprehensive Steam Store Guide for Hitman 3. The length of that guide alone is a nice indicator how insane IOI's product "management" has been up to now.

Anyway, I owned Hitman GOTY and Hitman 2 Gold up to now but that World of Assassination stuff definitely only made stuff even more confusing for me so I caved and bought a copy of Hitman 3 Deluxe + 7Sins today (GreenManGaming has a nice price for it).
I feel this is a better option than waiting another eternity for that $70 version and the $30 Deluxe Pack to go on sale for the same price that Hitman 3 can be grabbed for right now.
After today's purchase of ~€35 for Hitman 3 Deluxe plus 7Sins, I now own the full package from A to Z (Hitman 1 + 2 + 3 including all DLC/GOTY/Gold bonus missions). Phew.

And theyre still not going to remove the always online requirement

IO have done a great job keeping me away from a franchise I once loved. Still looks like a mess to me. Less so, sure.

I was going to grab Hitman 2016 on GoG before the whole online requirement took it off their store. I've sinced acquired it through Epic's freebies but haven't touched it.

I don't know, makes a lot more sense now. One version of the game, two additional DLCs with varying levels of content from the older games. They certainly made a mess out of things on their way to this though.

I agree that still seems too complicated. They're selling 3 old games together as one product, and the DLC for two of them together as one product, and then I guess you're meant to run one .exe no matter what, and then the in-game store sells items and such.

Is there any game that does this?

I guess it's an improvement over what they had before, so that's good.

The "deluxe" content doesn't seem to review well on Steam, so I suggest skipping that, and the "world of assassination" pack is 3 old games, so I suggest not paying $70 for that. Get that one on sale 50% off sometime.

I was wondering why Hitman 2 doesn't seem to be discounted during the current steam winter sale. I guess the publisher has been planning the merge for awhile now.

Or conversely you could just sell a single complete fucking game. Just a thought.
