Musk's latest act of theatrics... He's already said he didn't intend to stay CEO of Twitter, then introduces the "no links" policy to drum up outrage, immediately after putting out his poll, so he can drop out as CEO, leaving the mess he started, and say it was the will of the people.

I can't even with this guy. I guess being a billionaire makes you an automatic asshole. I have yet to see one that disproved the notion.

Some big Tesla investors were making noise about getting rid of him if he didn't stop the antics. This is just convenient nonsense to save face about "the will of the people" and all that.

Not the norm at all, I concur with you, but at least 2 exceptions, fortunately:

- Bill Gates dedicated to philanthropy for over 20 years (even if he was partial to cutthroat businesses practices before).
Helping fight HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, polio and malaria, and his various projects for sanitary (vs cholera and others) and health advancement in Africa and elsewhere.
He's had a hand in saving millions of people from death, paralisis, disablement, etc.

- Mark Cuban pharmacy providing medications at ridiculously low prices, shipped to the patients' homes. Shameful to compare to big pharma's openly criminal overpricing.

But yes, most are oblivious, others are abusive (Musk) to outright exploiters (Bezos).

I used to mock Mark Cuban, as there was that photo of his boat going around for years, named after Ayn Rand.
Turns out, that wasn't his boat, and he's not a libertarian, which always seemed in conflict with his actions.

Mark, I know you read this, so consider this a public apology for mocking your supposed liberal beliefs. The Fountainhead was actually owned by noted scumbag and parasitic billionaire Eddie Lampert, who destroyed Sears. Mark Cuban is libertarianish, which seems to have no meaning when he talks about needing to raise taxes on the wealthy.

It seemed like his goal from day 1 was to destroy the company, so I suppose that he's saying "Mission Accomplished"

Only a truly deranged billionaire would spend $44 billion to carry out a grudge over being threatened to get taken to court to follow a legally binding contract.

Keep in mind, most of that $44 billion was actually other peoples' money; various Saudis and other venture capitalists, and probably some Russian oligarchs as well.

Most implies more than 50%, I bet he has invested more of his money than that. He sure has sold a lot of Tesla stock if that's true.
I have not seen a breakdown showing how much of the money was Musks.

I doubt it. I'd bet he "believes" what he posted.
