Epic Sunsetting Online Services [Dec 14, 2022, 1:00 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Epic games announces it is turning off online services and servers for some
older games on January 24th. In most cases the affected games will still be
payable offline, but some games are going away altogether. Here's the list:
The following titles will have all online services disabled on January 24, after which players can continue playing single or local multiplayer modes offline:
- 1000 Tiny Claws
- Dance Central 1-3
- Note: Dance Central VR online multiplayer will remain available
- Green Day: Rock Band
- Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess
- Rock Band 1-3
- Note: Rock Band 4 online multiplayer will remain available
- The Beatles: Rock Band
- Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars
- Unreal Gold
- Unreal II: The Awakening
- Unreal Tournament 2003
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- Unreal Tournament 3
- Note: We have plans to bring back online features via Epic Online Services in the future.

For some reason, my original reply was deleted. Apparently, on the Blue's News forums, moderators will delete posts from comment sections on Epic Games when you reply to someone who clearing has a Steam bias. I'm thinking that these forum moderators have a Steam bias.

Nah. The vast majority will think Unreal, too, simply because of the Unreal engine which is growing ever more popular all the time. According to Epic (possibly not a completely unbiased source in this context but anyway), over half of "next gen" games are made on Unreal engine.
Yeah, but most consumers don't even know what engines are. They know games they play, and more people play Fortnite in a month than Unreal in 25 years.

what online service was being played? XMP or co-op?
XMP was a brilliant game....so much so that Epic killed the online service for U2 since they felt it would overshadow UT3
