Out of the Blue

The Game Awards air today at 7:30 pm EST. The good news is the recent indication that this will not be a three-hour slog like last year. A recent interview with Geoff Keighley indicates he's aware that premieres and announcements drive interest in this event far more than the awards, so hopefully the show will represent that. No drinking game this year, it sounds like just downing a shot for every reference to Geoff's "friend Hideo Kojima" would probably be enough to give anyone alcohol poisoning.

I can't understand what she was trying to say. On one hand, she's absolutely correct in saying that Hollywood largely avoided female fronted action films because, while women will happily watch men, men will less happily watch women (yes, there are exceptions, but I mean, just look at some of the topics we've even had here about female fronted video games!)

On the other hand, there have been many female fronted action films over the years, and she is absolutely aware of this. Many examples people give aren't exactly female led, even if females are important to the plot, but Hannah came out the year prior and was a teenage female main character, and literally everyone on the planet is aware of Aliens.
