I should re-watch Altered Carbon. Not as good as the books, but still pretty good.
Making the show was the kiss of death for the show, in my opinion. If they followed the books at ALL, they would have to change lead actors several times. They did, and regular people tuned out.

Looks like my kind of style.

Why is Edgar Allan Poe a character though? I feel like I am missing something, seems like an unnecessary distraction. I guess I have to watch it

Poe will always be Chris Conner from "Altered Carbon" in my book...

Christian Bale, I am required by law to watch it. I'll let you know how it is after I see it.

Poe seems to be the de rigeur thing right now. Shudder just did Raven Hollow which was surprisingly decent. Shudder has been kicking out some good horror movies this year.

Also, Pale Blue Eye sounds like the title of science fiction fare, not period mystery.

Good that could be risky over the internet!

I'll probably watch it but Period Pieces are often slow movers.

That trailer is not making me tumescent.

The Pale Blue Eye is set for release in select cinemas on December 23, 2022. It will receive a streaming release on Netflix on January 6, 2023.
It was first optioned for director Scott Cooper as far back as 2011 after his breakout hit Crazy Heart.
Despite seemingly having given up on the idea and worked consistently on other projects, in February 2021 news arrived that the movie was back in the works with Cooper still attached.
At the same time, it was announced that Christian Bale had signed on to lead the picture marking a third collaboration for the pair.
The following month, Netflix purchased the rights to the film. In June 2021, English actor Harry Melling, known for roles in the Harry Potter series and the television series The Queen’s Gambit, was cast as a young Edgar Allan Poe. More casting news followed by the end of 2021 with a flurry of announcements including the addition of Gillian Anderson, Timothy Spall, Robert Duvall, and Toby Jones.
