The party in charge during midterms normally loses Congress but the Senate actually gained a seat.
This is the first time since FDR in 1933 that the sitting president didn't lose any of his members that were up for reelection in the Senate.

A fine example of how fracked up US politics are. That 48.9%, 1.7 million Georgians would vote for US Senate for someone who was clearly unqualified, didn't follow the family values they claim to hold dear, who didn't actually live in Georgia, on and on... it is mind numbing.

Christian Walker pointed out that, had the GOP not played identity politics and just ran someone boring, they'd have won. Can't see the argument against that. Warnock barely beat the worst candidate since Madison Cawthorn. You'd have to think someone competent would have won.
They wouldn't have had to be competent, just not so glaringly incompetent.

Mitch and McCarthy getting snubbed by relatives of fallen Capitol officer is probably the closest thing to justice they will ever see. McCarthy knew it would be a touchy situation so he was too cowardly to even extend his hand.

I admire the restraint of the family members.
The senate race in Georgia is amazingly close (practically 50/50 Warnock 50.12% Walker 49.88%), the NYTimes is predicting a Warnock win.
Mitch and McCarthy deserved nothing more than to be spat in the face.
