DLSS 3 Momentum Snowballs in December!
GeForce Gamers have been good this year and are due for a stocking stuffed with DLSS 3, as the hottest holiday titles are chocked full of NVIDIA technology. And of course great DLSS 2 titles as well. Here is the list:
DLSS 3:
- Need for Speed Unbound (out now with DLSS 3)
- Warhammer 40,000 Darktide (out now with DLSS 3 and ray tracing)
- Portal with RTX (launches Dec. 8th with DLSS 3 and full ray tracing)
- Jurassic World Evolution 2 (updates to DLSS 3 on Dec. 8th)
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (updates to DLSS 3 and ray tracing on Dec. 14th)
DLSS 2:
- Firefighting Simulator (out now with DLSS 2)
- Marvel’s Midnight Suns (launching Dec. 2nd with DLSS 2 and ray tracing
- Choo-Choo Charles (launches Dec 9th with DLSS 2)
- Blacktail (launches Dec. 15th with DLSS 2)

Something bad happened?!? BLAME ALL THE COMPANIES
Yes blame the companies! Blame them, they are greedy and for the money they fucking gouge us, they need to do better. The above example took me 5 minutes to fix (even though I did a clean install and it definitely wasn't my fault) but I'm computer savvy and work in IT. Most people aren't, and when shit like this happens they are in trouble. So yeah, fuck Nvidia.

I did download the drivers, and for some reason I can't access the Nvidia Control Panel....Great Work Nvidia. Great Fucking Work.

DDU to the rescue?
After 30 minutes of your time and a couple reboots.

I've got a 3090RTX should I download these drivers, or will it fuck up my card?
*update*

Anyone else kind of salty that you could have a 3090 which isn't technically "old" and costed over 1000 and it is already neglected as far as DLSS2 goes?
How is the RTX 3090 being neglected as far as DLSS 2 goes? I don't think this is the case. DLSS 3 has become synonymous with "frame generation" and that should be the only difference between DLSS 3 and DLSS 2 support.
For example, if a game supports DLSS 3 what it actually means is it supports frame generation, DLSS super resolution (like DLSS version 2.42) and nVidia Reflex. If you have a RTX 3090 then the only thing that is missing is support for frame generation but you still get the DLSS 2.42 and Reflex support, of course.
Straight from nVidia's dev Q&A when they revealed the RTX 4000 series (if you follow the link it has a handy quick reference table, too):
Q: Will DLSS 2.X continue to be improved and supported in future titles?
Link
DLSS 3 consists of 3 technologies – DLSS Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution (a.k.a. DLSS 2), and NVIDIA Reflex.
DLSS Frame Generation uses RTX 40 Series high-speed Optical Flow Accelerator to calculate the motion flow that is used for the AI network, then executes the network on 4th Generation Tensor Cores. Support for previous GPU architectures would require further innovation and optimization for the optical flow algorithm and AI model.
DLSS Super Resolution and NVIDIA Reflex will of course remain supported on prior generation hardware, so current GeForce gamers and creators will benefit from games integrating DLSS 3. We continue to research and train the AI for DLSS Super Resolution and will provide model updates for all RTX customers as we have been doing since DLSS’s initial release.

I know the 4series is awesome and they want to support the hell out of them as its newest product, but how could you neglect the prior release already which still costs almost similar to their newest cards? I dunno, a tad salty here.
