Someone else has posted a link but they have not answered your question. The answer is that Epic pays a flat fee for the giveaways. It does not matter whether 1 or 1 billion people add the game to their libraries.

It would have been insane if they would have ever done it differently. The United Trolls of the Internet (UTI) with strong support of the Steam Elitist Club (SEC) would have bankrupted Epic a long time ago by claiming billions of copies via botnets.

To be fair, if you *DO* stfu after just a few years and allow the anti-consumer crap to continue w/out so much as a peep from you, AND you switch gears to actively supporting the Wal-Marts and Epics of the world (to be fair, you didn't state that you do, English needs inclusive and exclusive forms of you) then you're absolutely part of the problem that you initially railed against.

The info IS out there, in part because of the epic vs apple lawsuit. EGS does pay the devs and Epic is losing money on it lol.

Last year, I tried to predict which games Epic would give away. I think I got zero correct.

I'm expecting some repeats, but hoping at least a couple bigger titles will show up. I was surprised they gave away Evil Dead last week, that JUST came out! Maybe the co-op ghostbusters game will be one of these one-day giveaways, that'd be great.

If you somehow missed it, and if it shows up for the third time as a freebie, Control is fan-fucking-tastic. The story drove me more than the action, it sets up an intriguing premise that I HAD to see through.

Its just another store like many on the Internet. I don't like Walmart's business practices, so I don't generally go there. What I don't do is spend my time waiting for someone to say the word Walmart so I can preach to them about how bad I dislike them. People have heard the same shit I have heard a billion times by now, grown adults can make their own choices.

When Epic first started up the store, the debate made sense. It's been a few years now, Epic secured itself in the market, and STILL gives away these games. The audience they are selling to is not just the Fortnite players anymore. Their plan worked, for better or for worse. Now, it would be the equivalent of an old man yelling at kids to get off someone else's lawn to keep reliving a dead debate. I am pretty sure even the strongest haters get that.

Personally, between giveaways and sales....my game collection is growing faster then it ever has and I am spending less money per game then I ever have. GOG, Humble, Steam, Epic, Amazon Prime....the giveaways really add up after awhile. Once you stop caring about release dates and just set a price you are willing to pay for games.....this hobby gets a lot cheaper these days and I love that.
