Control 2 Announced [Nov 11, 2022, 11:19 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Remedy Entertainment announces Control 2, saying it is partnering
with publisher 505 games on a sequel to Control, the 2019 action/adventure.
This is currently in the preproduction phase for PC and consoles, and does not
yet carry a release date. Word is Remedy will retain ownership of the IP and be
the publisher on the PC edition. When its
deal with
505 was announced, Remedy referenced "a bigger-budget Control game."
The announcement lives up to that, saying that Control 2's initial development
budget is EUR 50 million. Here's more on the plan:
Remedy Entertainment (“Remedy”) has signed an agreement with 505 Games, an international video game publisher and a subsidiary of Digital Bros Group, under which Remedy and 505 Games will co-develop and co-publish Control 2 (formerly known as Codename Heron), a sequel to Remedy’s award-winning game Control.
Control 2’s initial development budget amounts to EUR 50 million, and Remedy will retain the ownership of the game’s intellectual property. The development, marketing, and post-launch investments as well as the future net revenues generated by the game will be equally split between 505 Games and Remedy. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it will be built on Remedy’s proprietary Northlight® engine and tools. Remedy will publish the game on the PC platform and 505 Games will publish it on the console platforms. The project is currently in concept stage.

Remedy is one of the greatest gifts to gaming. Max Payne, Alan Wake, Control. Fucking amazing.

Hrm, a little more urgency for me to finish up the first game, then. I got pretty far along, maxed out most of the weapons and my stats, and haven't been back to it in months. That seems to be happening to me a lot more these days, level up or max out my character, lose interest in finishing the game.
I tried to finish Skyrim twice, years ago now. First time I had my SSD die, and never reinstalled it(and all my mods) on a new comp setup. Then I tried again from scratch, got pretty maxxed out, lost interest.

yep, control is a very solid game, enjoyed throwing garbage at enemies to wipe them out.
And at least TEN BUCKS of that cash goes to the script writer! 
Remedy is on a roll ! Personally I am more of an Alan Wake guy. The concept of a cursed writer with no superpowers, armed only with a flashlight and a pistol, really resonated with me

Such a familiar feeling. I am 130 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 2, 120 into Xenoblade Chronicles 1, and at least 150 into The Witcher 3, but haven't completed the first two of those and still have to finish Blood and Wine in the third. So many games to play, so little time!

Same here. I really enjoyed the game.
It reminded me so much of Warehouse 13. I thought there was some connection because this whole time I thought it was Shawn Ashmore from Quantum Break another Remedy game, that was in Warehouse 13 seasons 3+. Researching it now it turns out that is his twin brother Aaron Ashmore.
Still I wonder if Warehouse 13 is where the idea for Control came from. Might need to re-watch it a little I remember enjoying it when it came out.

I am in accord with Verno. I loved the first game and I look forward to the second.

I think they could change up the weaponry a bit, some of them felt totally ineffective but beyond that just give me more of the same and a less abrupt ending.
