Out of the Blue

We have the first in a spate of medical mini-adventures today, as MrsBlue and I have appointments for COVID boosters. We're scheduled to get the Moderna bivalent, which reportedly holds the promise of greater effectiveness and greater side-effects. So I continue to be a guinea pig for the mix-and-match approach. My first shot was Janssen, my second was Pfiser, and now Moderna. I didn't find the first two go-rounds especially debilitating. If no updates show up later, you'll know my luck ran out. But I don't think that will be the case.

29 hours after getting both shots in the same shoulder, no apparent side effects. Not even the sore shoulder I got from the boosters previously.

As I mentioned in another thread, wife and I got the Pfizer bivalent Saturday and no chills this time. Pleasantly surprised. Just soreness at the injection site.

Last month, Moderna bivalent booster shot kicked my arse like the previous shots. My body sucks as usual.

Yeah I had a much rougher time with the latest (Pfizer bivalent) booster. Got it last Thurs. night and the next day or so had fairly bad chills (this much was similar to the other shots). Then felt basically fine for a few days, but the following Mon. night felt really sick, with sweats, chills, nausea all night long.. couldn't get any sleep at all. By the following night I was able to get some sleep again, but had general unwell feeling and little appetite all week. (fine way to lose 5 pounds I suppose)
Progressively feeling better the last few days, but I'll definitely be consulting my doctor before getting any further boosters. Hopefully they can reduce these side effects, or I think they'll have a tough time getting people to continue to get them on any kind of regular basis going forward.

I've had 4 shots, all Pfizer. I got the initial Pfizer 2-shot, and all except the first shot took me out for half a day. I always felt fine the day of the shot. The 2nd shot just made me feel really tired the next day, but after a couple of naps I was fine. Shots 3 and 4 (the bivalent) both woke me up at night with fever and chills. The 3rd one made me nauseous enough I booked it to the bathroom and dry-heaved a bit over the toilet. The 4th shot also made me feel a bit nauseous, but not as bad. Looking back at it now, the last two shots wer probably 2-3 hours of fever and nausea, then back to bed to sleep it off, but at the time I felt like hell and it seemed like it lasted forever.

I'm getting a flu shot next week. It was recommended not to do them at the same time because if there is a serious side effect, you won't know which one caused it. I've only had one side effect from a flu shot in my life. My arm from the shoulder to halfway down my forearm developed red speckles. That was it. It didn't hurt or itch and it went away after a day. It wasn't like a rash on the skin, it was just little red speckles under the skin.

The question on everyone's mind is what car is it.
From the photo I'm guessing a Corvette, the fiberglass body wouldn't rust. The rear window would be the hatchback opening from 79-82, previously fixed.

Hmm, didn't spend a lot of time on it but the sites I visited seemed to think getting them at the same time was not an issue.

Most recommendations are that you can take them at the same time, unless you have a condition, or previously had a bad reaction to the flu vaccine.

I need the flu shot myself, but will follow my allergist's advise to wait 2 weeks after the covid booster, just to play safe.

Jury rules in favor: Kevin Spacey didn't molest actor Anthony Rapp in 1986
Do you have more details? I'm curious if it's like a technicality kind of thing, or more something like Rapp lied, etc.

"The judge dismissed Rapp’s claim of assault before the trial started and dismissed his claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress after Rapp’s attorneys rested his case, leaving the jury to decide only the battery claim. Under New York law, battery is touching another person, without their consent, in a way that a reasonable person would find offensive."

I've been lucky so far. Two doses of the covid vaccine and two boosters with no more than a slightly sore deltoid muscle for a day. I'll be interested to see if I have more of a reaction with the combo of covid and the regular flu shot.

Transparent Wood is just wood with it's natural polymers extracted and replaced with plastic.

And they aren't trying to replace single-use plastics with it... but glass. Replacing a completely recyclable product with more plastic. Great idea!
