news that Google is shutting down its
Stadia streaming game service. A

from Ubisoft Support announces it is working to bring all Ubisoft games
purchased on Stadia to Ubisoft Connect:
While Stadia will shut down on January 18, 2023, we're happy to share that we're working to bring the games you own on Stadia to PC through Ubisoft Connect. We'll have more to share regarding specific details as well as the impact for Ubisoft+ subscribers at a later date.

I'm wondering if the total Stadia subscriber count is so low that all these refends and free games don't amount to any real dollar cost for Google or Ubisoft : )

It can't be cheap to do that work. Hopefully, this will cause big publishers to reconsider releasing cloud games.

I can't remember the last time I has something nice to say about Ubisoft...but gotta give credit where it is due. Hopefully other publishers follow their lead.
