Patreon's woes are a huge source of concern for a huge number of content creators on YouTube I'm sure. YouTube seems to look to demonitize everyone not already huge on the platform. None of whom I find remotely interesting.

The issue with patreon is the same as the issue with so many similar services. They are at their maximum size and do not need any further growth. They built a service people use, and they can collect enough income for a small company to be sustainable. But because it's silicon valley, they have to keep growing past the breaking point.
