As I told them earlier, I have no interest in a subscription model.

Also, their song list is anemic.

I think the sub is optional and to me if I were big into it, might be worth it. Having access to everything vs buying songs. I dunno, seems like a reasonable option.

It is not optional, subscription is their new model. No buying individual songs, and you don't buy just the game itself, you subscribe in order to have access to play it (requires internet connection).

Agreed. This is why I dumped Adobe in favor of Davinci. I can pay $400 a year in subs for Adobe, or one $300 payment for unlimited Davinci updates.

Exactly. I switched to DaVinci for video and Affinity Photo for photo editing. Some of the side benefits is that those apps don't install background services, while Adobe installs something like 10 the last time I checked. I can't stand when software installations include services that take up memory/cpu cycles when the app isn't even running (i.e. telemetry). What's interesting about Affinity Photo is that some of the features that are used regularly are 100x better than Photoshop, but many people won't know because Photoshop is the industry standard. And while Photoshop has more features, most of them I don't need anyway. So, goodbye Adobe! 🤪

You and me both. Guess Ubi didn't think overcharging for songs was making them enough money, so they're going with the over-priced subscription model instead.
