Out of the Blue

Diablo 2 player completes pacifist Hell run previously only theorized to be possible. I've never tried that, but recalling the game, that's really pretty boggling. I'd say impossible, but the story proves otherwise. Something about going through hell in a handbasket. It's always fun to see the unusual ways gamers come up with to enjoy the hobby.

Peaceful Round-up

Kxmode, mystified by your post, again.
Please explain how do you figure they can implement tactile feel on a screen.
Mini electric shocks, finger area selective ?
Google: Haptic Touch Screens. It's a thing.
Thanks Kxmode for your answer !

But my doubt persists if they can solve the keycaps edge problem.
I type without looking, and the keycaps concave depression and "sharp" edges allow me to easily recognize if I pressed the right letter.

A simple vibration or more, doesn't seem capable of giving that kind of necessary feedback, forcing us to look at what we type, unacceptable to me.

Also different tablet's sizes would entail a re-education of learned typing reflexes excepting re-sizable virtual keyboards.
I was inspired by this. The developer called it Surface-Haptics. It could be used to simulate the feel of keys on a keyboard. The keyboard would be a large simulation app that sends the keystrokes to the OS. It would reduce or outright eliminate the use of elements that go into keyboard production. Thumbsup

Oh, getting old clearly sucks. It is just that being comfortably retired significantly counteracts the suck -- but the suck is still there.

Don't know about old sucking though.

Yeah, something busted my sleep cycle 6-8 weeks ago and I really wish I could get it fixed. Consistently waking up at 4am (sometimes 3am) whether I turn in at 10pm or 1am. Previously I slept 10pm to 6am pretty steadily. I might wake overnight, but I always fell asleep again without trouble. Getting old sucks.

Having an emergency doesn't let the pilot with as many quick landing choices.

I think it would be amazing to have a tactile OLED keyboard in the form of a tablet shaped like a standard keyboard, but instead of physical keys, the keys appear as tappable icons on an OLED but with a tactile feel. People could create skins to change the look and feel of their keyboards. I'd imagine each keystroke would be encrypted by the keyboard's OS.

The swimming pool collapse is ancient history by internet standards. But it does a good job in showing how little water is needed for a vehicle to lose contact with the surface and begin to drift. So don't drive through flooded areas like so many inbred jackasses do here in Texas.

Many years ago, I used to be an emergency sysadmin/sysop overnight. It's where I learned to hate coffee as I was drinking two pots a night. Even as an insomniac, it messed up my cycle and patterns something fierce. I always felt lethargic and I was never hungry except for right when I woke up. It took me months to cycle back to a fairly "normal" human pattern once I quit that contract.
