Pacino's character in "Heat" was reasonably realistic -- at least I thought so. But yeah, he's had a few odd roles...
But Donnie Brasco was from a couple of years later.
Wow. You are right. I didn't realize "Heat" was from 1995. *ugh* I am so freaking old.

I have absolutely zero sympathy for anyone crashing or dying while heavily intoxicated by drugs and/or alcohol. Zero. Good riddance, Heche.

She's fucking lucky she killed nobody. Let alone a kid or a family, like the other devastating LA crash last month.

Be self-destructive all you want and I have no issue with you, but if that behaviour puts others in mortal danger, you're no longer a human being in my book.

The only movie I remember seeing Anne Heche in was Wag the Dog. I don't remember the film all that well, but I do remember that her performance stood out. She was really great in that movie. I kind of expected her to become a big A-list star. But I know she got a lot of blowback from her relationship with Ellen way back when. That, plus substance abuse, kind of stalled her career I think.
She was great as the tortured wife in Donnie Brasco. Another standout performance in a move chock full of name actors with great performances. That movie is highly underrated. Check it out.
I agree. I love that movie. Perhaps the last time you find either Depp or Pacino acting like actual people.

i dunno why she needs a gofundme. pretty much a slam dunk lawsuit against heche's estate. even a quick settlement would be megabucks.
If one is brought, a lawsuit could take many months or possibly years to resolve. She'll need something to help her right now. Looking at the raised amount, the generosity of people is very impressive. 🙂

So out here in the Bay Area there is a little airport in Concord, CA....its mostly used by the richer folks who do business in Contra Costa county and Silicon Valley and fly in with private planes. There are a fair amount of hobbyist/enthusiast flyers as well. They have had to land on HWY 680 a few times in the last 20 years or so....the last time I am aware of I drove up on right after it happened. I saw the plane coming down to ground level to land but from quite a distance and couldn't see what exactly happened at landing. By the time I got there the couple of people that were in the plane were out and a cop was already on the scene. Before I passed the scene the firetruck was already coming up on it. I assume its because they had time to warn the tower that the emergency crews started arriving so soon. As far I could see, nobody was hurt, but it was wild to think about. I can't imagine a truly busy part of socal traffic. Scary shit. All three crashes were engine failure due to a mistake in maintenance.

My wife saw a YouTube with her drinking practically all night before the wreck with a friend of hers. Of course, didn't show the coke/fentanyl snorting, apparently. She hit two houses...the first one wasn't "that bad" as someone opened her car door and asked her if she needed help and took a pic of her in which she definitely looks like she had been up all night. Had she had the judgment to stop and get out at that time she would have survived, probably, but she sped away and proceeded to hit the second house at a high rate of speed. My wife and I think she probably passed out before slamming into the next house and almost burning up in the wreck before they could get her out. If ever there was a "don't drink and drive" real life story worthy of a PSA, this episode certainly qualifies.
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)

I hope she can recover her losses. Did the insurance not cover it?

So, I've been reading about the "mega-flood" predictions for California. And while I wouldn't go so far as saying "I hope it happens", due possible loss of life and all the damage... that said, it would be kind of interesting to see...

Speaking about bad piloting... the only movie I remember her in was Six Days Seven Nights, opposite Harrison Ford.
