My wife and I are going through a divorce, and as such she is at a different address. She also has Spectrum. She has had it for roughly a month and it has worked for 2 weeks worth of days. I told her I had nothing to do with it but I am not sure she believes me.
Bummer. Sorry it didn't work out. Given the current situation I suspect you can expect to receive blame for anything bad that happens to her for a long time to come.

Thx. Yes, you called that.....there is a list apparently....

Because of my recent move I had to shift from Comcast to Spectrum. Speed has been great, customer service has been great. Its only been a month though...so....

The Spectrum installers I've had to deal with in the three moves in the past couple of years have been polite, knowledgeable, and professional. Ditto for the online guy I had to deal with (granted he was new to Spectrum straight out of the military). I feel like usually these companies fail at the policy level (like forcing their support staff to upsell), but usually have good people working for them. That said, between this story and what Jaxx said, it sounds like they don't vet their employees before hiring, and that's a big problem.

Yup that's Spectrum alright.

I'm sure they'll pass those costs along to their customers, and the lawyers and executives who broke the law will continue making bank.
And it will be appealed but What’s amazing about this case is it went to court. We would know nothing about the verdict If it had gone to arbitration/settled out of court - As are most cases like this.

I ditched Spectrum (formerly Time Warner) for T-Mobile home wireless last year. T-Mobile is a much less consistent and overall slower service; it's always on, but sometimes, like maybe once every two or three weeks, there's a whole day where it's dialup slow. But I just couldn't stomach giving Spectrum any more of my money. I'd get angry again every year or two when they hiked their rates another 10-15%. Year-over-year it came out to 7% since I first signed up in 2004. I can't get a 7% raise even in a year where both me and my division beat all our targets, not at any company I've ever worked at, who the hell do they think they are? For forging documents to cheat their victims in court they should have all their appeals denied and their CEO thrown in goddamned prison, where he should rot and die.

Because of my recent move I had to shift from Comcast to Spectrum. Speed has been great, customer service has been great. Its only been a month though...so....

My parents on the other hand HATE Spectrum with a passion. They would rather be crucified then go back to them over a whole mess of billing and connectivity problems. The service was so bad that Spectrum, as shitty as they are apparently, volunteered to give them 6 months of their service charges back to them and my parents still told them to go spit.

My wife and I are going through a divorce, and as such she is at a different address. She also has Spectrum. She has had it for roughly a month and it has worked for 2 weeks worth of days. I told her I had nothing to do with it but I am not sure she believes me.

I’ve worked for Cox, Charter, and Comcast. Cox did a check on previous employment. I transferred to charter when I moved and they just accepted me. When I moved two years later to be with my now wife, Comcast did an extensive background check on me. Employment, verified military service, etc. it was almost like getting my conceal carry permit.

Out of the three, I will say Comcast was the best employer. Benefits, job security, etc.

A cable company which might actually be worse than Comcast. Astounding.

Don't feel bad for Spectrum:
- Eliminated their employee screen process (because profits?), and hired a known problem employee.
- Allowed the perp unlimited access to his vehicle, against company policy
- Failed to preserve evidence after being told to do so
- Spectrum security stated they were under no obligation to cooperate with police
- Spectrum lawyers forged an arbitration document that would have limited damages to the cost of the victim's final bill
- Sent a bill to the deceased's family for the "Service call" during which the man murdered his victim.
- The trial revealed 2500 thefts by Spectrum employees that the company failed to report to police.
Instead of installers being meatbags with a toolkit who failed their Uber/Lyft interview, maybe they should be bonded. On that thought, may lyft-uber drivers should be bonded.
I know, crazy talk.

As for Spectrum, they're just doing what scotus approved. Acting like people.
