I can't wait to see the shitshow that ensues when the first woman is arrested for attempting to leave her state to have an abortion elsewhere. Dunno if anyone saw Biden's statement on that yesterday but he says it's going to happen. Really? How much longer until secession talks begin for real? What's the point in calling it the "United" States anymore - not like that's ever been the case anyway. Or as our Latin friends call it - Estados Unidos - which sounds way better.

Of course supporters of these laws will ask, Why did she tempt her father with that My Little Pony t-shirt? Why didn't she keep her legs closed?

They will say she didn't have enough religion. Changes to school curriculum to include more God and further removal of sex education will follow.

Here's what this ruling has wrought:
A 10 year old in Ohio raped by her father found out she was pregnant 6 weeks and 3 days after conception. OH trigger law that went into effect bans abortions after six weeks, no exceptions. Indiana's law has yet to take effect, so she's going there for the procedure.
Of course supporters of these laws will ask, Why did she tempt her father with that My Little Pony t-shirt? Why didn't she keep her legs closed?
The entire situation is horrific beyond words made worse by her state's laws.

Surprising to see that some people think the voters in each state should not have the right to determine abortion laws in their states. That's nothing but democracy, with people's votes counting. Also, strange to see that some don't realize that many women in the states that ban abortion vote to ban surgical abortion--millions of women are involved here in seeing it banned in states. Even the dissenting votes in the SCOTUS decision agreed that there's no "right to abortion" (by any description) in the Constitution--that's been false for 50 years. There will be many states in which the voters will support and allow abortion. Doesn't get any more democratic than that. Overturning Roe didn't ban abortion anywhere. It leaves the issue up to the states, just where it was before the very poor Roe decision in '72. No more can surgical abortion be used as a political football by an incompetent Congress, and I think that's wonderful!

Changing the Constitution can be done, but not by the judicial branch, legally. The states have to align in order to change the Constitution, and Congress is involved, of course. The job of the SCOTUS, indeed, of the entire judicial branch is to enforce the laws that Congress enacts and to enforce the Constitution. But, as we all know, that hasn't been adhered to at times, usually with horrific results, so it's good to see the country returning to the path upon which it was founded, imo.
Walt is a great example of someone so full of cognitive dissonance that they think taking rights away from people is the same thing as giving rights to people. Imagine being THAT GUY who would straight face argue that it is better to take away an individual's right to choose and give that power to the state instead. I don't know whether to laugh out loud or feel genuinely sorry. I mean, how does one even start with someone so far gone already?

Can we also force the states that ban abortion to make sure these unwanted and uncared for children have to remain in the states of which they were forced to be conceived in?

We don't need these backwards hill-billy states being more of financial drain on the federal level because of their incompetency at governance.

gg hypocrisy, Walt. This from the people who always claim they want a party of small government that keeps its noses out of people's private business and bedrooms. Anyone that's pro-poverty, pro-war, pro-captial punishment, pro-theocracy, etc. is not pro-life they're anti-choice. In other words, you're the American Taliban.

Would you be cool with a state law that puts men to death for masturbation? After all, you're committing genocide every time you masturbate. Each sperm is a person. Then there's the whole slavery thing but that doesn't come close to the evil of male masturbation.

You don't get to use "democracy" to support oppression. With "democracy", a lot of southern states were perfectly ok with slavery, so I guess you would have been perfectly fine allowing that to continue, because, hey, it "doesn't get any more democratic than that".

We think the individual should. I am sorry that you hate individual freedoms and prefer draconian government abilities to dictate your medical and family decisions.

I don't think I have the right to force fatherhood upon you and find it strange you think you do upon me.

Weird that you hate individual freedoms, Walt, but that explains most of your weird posting here

What an awesome thing for Sega to do since the xtreme court rolled back the clock on women's rights.
