It's a two man team, and they have sold millions of copies of FTL and ItB. I'm sure they could retire if they so desire. I think the reason that this took so long is that they worked normal hours to complete it.

I think because it's two guys that just want to make games they love. They're kind of pure like that.

Their last game has given me literally thousands of hours of fun. Possibly my most played game ever, despite coming out at a time that I game 10% as much as I used to

It seems pretty sucky to me. I guess it's the general anti-mobile bias on this board. I feel like there's a lot of disdain here for two kinds of mobile games: 1) predatory F2P games, and 2) ones that cost money. So this is kind of invisible to a lot of the PCMR crowd. I was going to say people are going to go, I can already play this on PC so what's the point, but it looks like that already happened.

Speaking for myself, it looks like a good fit on mobile but I'm not paying for a Netflix subscription to get it. It would be like going to Burger King and only being allowed to buy their spicy chicken sandwich if you had, well, a Netflix subscription. But it's not a 1:1 analogy with Epic and Steam since in this scenario I assume you're still getting the game on the Play Store/Apple Store. So it's more like those games that require Origin or the Ubi thing to be installed. Except if those things cost money; people already hate them when they're free.

I do think that they'd get more goodwill -- among other people, not necessarily posters here -- if they gave a discount coupon or a free month or something through the game. Or if you got it free with your Netflix account (which you do) but everyone else could still buy it for money.

It is exclusive for mobile, just how most Epic games are also on consoles, but exclusive for PC. They're still on Xbox, PS, and Switch.
