Good luck Rebecka, you're trying to fix something that is fundamentally flawed. There is a disconnect between the devs and the playerbase, people are looking forward to the next game, not 2042.
That disconnect is called "bean counters." I heard an interview with a former EA dev, although I can't remember which franchise he worked on. He said basically all his meetings went from "How can we make the best game" to "How can we best monetize the game." So he quit and went to work for an indie.
Sounds about right. She also is coming in from Ubisoft live-service titles, they are the queen of "bean counters", with the king a race between Take2 and Activision.

I don't pay much attention to Metacritic, but it's crazy the disparity between user reviews and critic reviews. Pretty much all users say the game is buggy and the maps are terrible while the critics mostly love it. The game seems fixable, but...

I stopped playing Battlefield after buying (and liking) Battlefield 1 because, after the first DLC landed, I could not find an active server. I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but the game went from great, filled servers to waiting 30min and giving up.

Reality is these games are all throwaway. Once they've lived out their profitability, your investment in the game is junk. 2042 may be particularly bad, but this is a series I'm never supporting again.

I'm a smoldering volcano of virility. At least, that's what I tell myself.

Imagine hearing all the problems about how awful the specialist system is only to double down on it and still wonder why the game is still a total dumpster fire. Then imagine how long it's going to take/has taken to "revamp" maps to include obstacles, defence points and kill corridors which are integral to shooters. Then how it shipped with 22 weapons whereas BF4 had over triple that.

Congratulations breaking 10k players on Steam which is already starting to trend downward.
