Does anyone here prefer hero shooter's gameplay wise to arena shooters? To me a hero shooter is the evolution of an arena shooter, where every character has different abilities. It increases the depth of the match considerably, which you could argue is good for gameplay. Or does it have too many distractions (microtransactions, crutch for those who aren't good with guns only, animations, voices, skins, sprays, DE&I). TF2 could have been the greatest hero shooter of all-time if Valve didn't abandon it. I prefer arena shooters, but I'll admit when I played Black Ops 4 Blackout, I enjoyed earning the Scarlett skin (a cosmetic and voice change) and playing with it, and it did want to make me play the game more. Not really a problem with using skins if they can be earned.
